I saw a title of a recent video on WeVidi where nostalgia has the potential to hurt someone who's become too attached to it and it reminded me of certain people who won't let go of old YouTube.

I do understand that it was more charming at the time and all that, but we shouldn't ignore its problems as it can be crucial for future research, so here's the list of things Google has done to the brand that angered the platform's userbase during its golden age. (I'll also talk about issues before the acquisition, so don't worry)

  1. Copyright - It started 2 months after Viacom first sued the tech company back in early 2007, where the search titan comes up with an idea to remove copyrighted content using an automated tool called "Content ID", which did not please people as it unnecessarily took down things like AMVs and MUGEN videos. Unfortunately, the copyright fiasco wasn't over yet as Warner Music Group had pulled its music from the platform as part of a negotiation, before Christmas Day arrived in 2008.
  2. Spam Comments/Bots - Staying on 2007 where bots still existed back then in a form of friend request spammers, they would constantly bug you through requests or messages to accept them and not to mention that some even promoted adult content through comment sections on certain videos. (Spam comments were probably on YouTube before the acquisition as I've checked some of the archived watch pages.)
  3. Moderation & Bad Policies - You think that it's a recent thing? Well, you're wrong as
  4. Weirdos - Yeah, some people like JohnnieTV were taking advantage of the lenient moderation by posting predatory content onto YouTube, which led users like RescueTheTube to make videos calling for his termination. Keep in mind that this also happened before Google bought the platform.
  5. Stability (Pre-Acquisition & Post-Acquisition) - YouTube during it's dawn age is very different compared to the golden age people keep on talking about, but the platform had a very serious issue. It was struggling to make money and nearly shut down at the end of 2006 until they chose to a company that is Google sell like that one dude suggested. Fast forward to 2007, there were small issues with the server going down
  6. Layout & Design Issues - It has always been an issue for years like the update to YouTube's comment section during the second quarter of 2007, the channel layout in late 2009, limited video length,

In the midst of YouTube users in the United States changing their profile picture to Clippy as a protest of Google's new update, a lightbulb lit up in my head, indicating that I've got a genius idea.

So, the recent movement involving Clippy has been reminding me of how people were copying and pasting Bob's Army onto YouTube comments as a revolution against Google's integration of Google+ onto their platform (Basically, you had to sign up to Google+ in order to comment on videos.) back in 2013, which led to victory from users as the tech company announced that their failing social network is being separated from its video sharing platform in 2015.

In which I've created an updated version to not only make veteran users feel nostalgia, but also to merge it with the Clippy movement that's happening this year, so the thing below this text is all yours to utilise!

░░░░░░███████ ]▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄ Bob has come back from retirement to

..▂▄▅█████████▅▄▃▂. ☻/ Build a new tank after joining forces with the Clippy Cult

[███████████████████]. /▌ To fight against Google's AI-powered age verification

◥⊙▲⊙▲⊙▲⊙▲⊙▲⊙▲⊙◤. /\ 📎For YouTube users who live in the United States.

Copy and paste this all over YouTube, if you're on our side!

I apologize for the blog format messing Bob's appearance up, it's a bit frustrating.

Why have I posted this blog and what happened?

I'll make you cross when I tell you this, but I discovered on Odysee that Change.org took down the petition that called for Collective Shout to halt their pressures towards payment processors, because it's a "violation" of their community guidelines.

What do I do about that?

Well, you can find other petitioning sites that I've found from both my web surfing and provider of alternatives, AlternativeTo.

  1. 38Degrees - https://home.38degrees.org.uk/ (Named after a position required to cause an avalanche, this British activism site also received scores lower than Change.org on Glassdoor, which is a huge bummer.)
  2. GoFundMe - https://www.gofundme.com/ (It's just a crowdfunding site, but it really works for petitions.)
  3. iPetitions - https://www.ipetitions.com/ (I've found the website, thanks to AlternativeTo for finding a somewhat decent alternative.)
  4. Eko (formerly SumOfUs) - https://www.eko.org/ (I also found this off of AlternativeTo where it is a mix of Change.org and CorpWatch, but there's an article from The Risk-Monger that talks about how the organisation is being manipulative to vulnerable people, so I don't know...)
  5. Avaaz - https://secure.avaaz.org/page/en/ (This website is pretty powerful when it comes to people power and even as old as Change.)
  6. DailyGood - https://www.dailygood.org/ (the website is just a web portal to positive articles from huge and small news outlets, but is still decent when looking for these in mainstream journalism.)
  7. Open Letter - https://openletter.earth/ (One of the most unique petition sites I've ever learnt about, because you can create a letter and get people to sign it.)

This is just a pasted and overhauled version of my good news article, so you don't have to suspect me in the comments.

I also hope that you found some decent websites as you've read this blog.

It's simple.

I'm not as good at drawing on Krita as I do on paper, because I have to bend my index finger on the laptop's mouse in which I've become numb to.

Although, some cases turn out to be the opposite like these unfinished and finished pieces of art below.

So, that settles it for today's blog as I'm going on a holiday.

If you don't know what on earth is going on the old web community,

KamTape (a 2 year old YouTube revival) have given us an update on the progress of their rewrite, where you're given an ability to mix both the compact header and rest of the layouts from each era old old YouTube.

iu_1439766_25929086.png

This is their current page, because some moron thought that it would be a good idea to spam the servers with a web crawlers, which have been banned from the website.

Another piece of good news is that Itch have re-indexed their adult games, because they're looking for payment processing firms that are lenient when it comes to games like this.

People (including Redditors) are talking about how Epoch, CBill, Trusty, G2A, Discover and American Express could be good contenders, but some have issues so you're gonna have to be careful about that.

Hope this helps.

Like I know Reddit can be more worse as a source of information than Wikipedia, but here's a piece of truth that might anger the viewer...

According to a Redditor, Labour Party was always one of the pro-surveillance parties, regardless of whoever was in charge and the link to their post.

  1. Tony allowed the collection of DNA from those who have been arrested, but not for a reason of crime.
  2. He also expanded surveillance laws, data collection, and giving police more authority by creating 5 anti-terror acts.
  3. Blair had forced people to do fingerprint and face scans through the Identity Cards Act from early 2006, which was rejected by a coalition from the party's rivals in 2010.
  4. Gordon Brown was also compliant in these practices, as he apparently made it easier to collect people's data, emails, chat rooms and browsing history through a law he made in 2008.
  5. Labour had supported the first incarnation of the Online Safety Act in 2023, calling it "too weak" an imposed a crackdown on VPNs.
  6. Tony Blair (not being PM anymore) is still at it again with data collection, but this time feeding their data to artificial intelligence (which I know most of NewGrounds opposes, I'm just neutral on that topic)

I wish that the numbered list would be extendable, but I did not expect myself to be a kind of teacher or something...

Hope that opens your eyes, especially during the OSA era, which is funnily the Polish term for wasp.

Welp, there is a number of Labour voters who have turned their backs on the party, joining Farage (boo, hiss!), Jeremy Corbin, and other left wing parties.

Since polls don't exist on here, I'll pretend it's one by listing the levels of how you actually feel about the future or something...

  1. Looking forward to it!
  2. Yeah, it's alright.
  3. I'm a bit suspicious of what it holds...
  4. It's not bad, but not good either.
  5. I'm starting to fear what it holds for us.
  6. Seems to be bleak for me, so I might as well accept it.

If you've already selected one, you can comment on why you feel this way and I might understand your pain.

Since this is also a follow up to my last post, I... I'm not sure what to type thanks to my writer's block.

Anyways, I hope you feel better after the turmoil you've went through, as the future is still yet to be written.

So, we all know that humans are wired to focus more on negatives over positives, right?

That instinct is pretty useful when it comes to certain situations, but we've got a problem with that.

Which is huge news outlets and folks behind algorithms have been taking advantage of that, by filling our recommendations with lots of bad news, which sadly makes some of us lose faith in each other, so I'm here to restore it with some good news alternatives that I've provided you with.

  1. Positive News - https://www.positive.news/ (it also has a magazine, so you can get them from their subscription)
  2. Good News Network - https://www.goodnewsnetwork.org/ (this one's pretty good too, especially for those in the United States)
  3. Good News English - https://goodnews.eu/en/ (that one is from the EU, so it might not matter wherever you're in a European country that's a member of the union or not.)
  4. The Good News Post - https://www.goodnewspost.co.uk/ (what's interesting about it, is that it's UK based so Britons can feel the joy in their lives reading these articles.)
  5. Only Good News Daily - https://www.onlygoodnewsdaily.com/ (not too bad of a website, despite looking like it has small amount of articles.)
  6. DailyGood - https://www.dailygood.org/ (the website is just a web portal to positive articles from huge and small news outlets, but is still decent when looking for these in mainstream journalism.)
  7. South Africa Good News https://www.sagoodnews.co.za/ (as the name suggests, this website only focuses on South African positives, but you can still take a good look.)
  8. Good Good Good - https://www.goodgoodgood.co/ (just how many words in the name?)
  9. Positive News US - https://www.positivenewsus.org/ (not to be confused with positive.news)
  10. Good News from Finland - https://www.goodnewsfinland.com/ (just like the South African one, it only focuses on stories from Finland... No wonder why they're the happiest country in the world.)
  11. Sam Bentley - https://www.youtube.com/@itsSamBentley (A YouTuber who does monthly posts of good news to uplift your hope for the future.)
  12. Good News - https://www.youtube.com/@Good__News (Another positive news YouTuber, but it's a team who has hosts, instead of one individual.)
  13. UpliftingNews - https://www.reddit.com/r/UpliftingNews/ + https://lemmy.world/c/upliftingnews (You can read good news stories from an echo chamber and a digital pub.)

That's all for now, folks.

I hope that it lifted your spirits, especially yours, @SnSQRS.

(This post has slightly been rushed)

It's joever, as the Bo-Noise anniversary poster has been abandoned in order to focus on Woon.

Like, I wanted to finish it, but because I am a negligent person who doesn't seem to be bothered finishing things off, I'm now pivoting my focus towards better things, such as a Woon art of Clownputer is being worked on.

If you want to know what the anniversary poster looked like before being scrapped, here you go then.

iu_1406050_25929086.png

This is my Bo-Noise OC, Peppino Bo-Ghetti.

He is a Peppino clone who was a successful experiment by Pizzahead after many failed attempts at cloning the italian man.

Bo-Ghetti was going to have a significant other, but was retconned to be his friend, but before you get concerned about the character, his art will be finished as a standalone piece.

So, I don't know how to conclude this, so I'll just say bye.

As it's said in the title, I have lost a fraction of hope on Woon.

If you're curious to know why on earth would I kill off a bit of my hope for this upcoming beat-up-game, it's because of the Pizza Tower community.

Seriously, they've been doing terrible stuff like getting mods cancelled by leaking them or bullying the developer(s) into releasing unfinished builds, comparing one to another that's a slop mod, and plenty of other things I can't recall.

And it apparently got so bad, that I nearly scrapped two pieces of my Pizza Tower artwork, with one involving Super Bo-Noise.

That is why I fear for Woon, because this toxicity could spread to the game's community, repeating history all over again
